I have been wondering if big pharma is not the only boogeyman in the room. I wonder if the medical insurance industry is pressing FDA for treatments that reduce hospital time and doctor visits! Remdesivir primary endpoint is reduction of number of days in hospital and doctor visits. They show some effectiveness. Leronlimab is measured by mortality at 28 days and also now at 42 days. There is also the problem that the hospital system is being overwhelmed. A number of places talk of the system being close to collapse. This does sound like a crisis where FDA would be concerned. I looked again and I cannot find that Leronlimab has endpoints on reduction of hospitalized days. Maybe this also speaks to why Remdesivir got approvals when its efficacy on mortality was marginal. Again this is just a stream of consciousness!
