There is always a little more to the story that me

"Shopify said its merchants will be able to select which product they would like to promote. Then, video ads will be automatically generated that could show up in a TikTok user’s video feed and drive customers to Shopify for checkout. "
It doesn't sound like VerbLive to me
It doesn't even sound frictionless
It doesn't even sound like this auto generated video ad would actually have a person talking in it
But who knows since we just have a few versions of the story to go by and haven't actually seen the product, if it even exists yet
Keep in mind Youtube has had call-to-action overlays in ads for years
Clunky and annoying, but they've had them. How many people actually click on them? I know I don't.
You know why? No one in the video asked me to. They didn't do 'the ask'
Yeah, they asked me to subscribe. They asked me to check the comments below for more information, etc. But they didn't ask me to buy anything.
Not all ads plus videos means the same thing
"If you’re watching a TikTok video and somebody’s got a piece of apparel or an item on it that you really like, what if you could just quickly purchase that item?” Walmart CEO Doug McMillon told CNBC earlier this month. “That’s what we’re seeing happen in countries around the world. And it’s intriguing to us, and we would like to be part of it.”"
Doug, I'd like you to meet Rory.
Rory, Doug.
Rory has what you are looking for

A few more things
Interactive videos have been around for years
They've been expensive and complex to do
One example Wirewax:
The company offers two different pricing models for businesses: monthly pricing at $1,500 to $50,000 per month, dependent on the features you need to utilise; and $7,500 to $500,000 if you want to use Wirewax for a single campaign only.
That half a million dollar video is nice
nice and expensive
A few words on patents...
There are some things you can patent and others you can't
In a recent video when asked about the competition Rory said there could be 15 vendors in this space and still room to grow
Yeah, everyone wants to invest in the company that has no competition but how often is that
Hey, youtube had videos long before TikTok. Why didn't Youtube just create a patent on uploading and making videos searchable?
How many CRM companies are out there? How many companies are out there for other solutions?
Lots. If there was only room for one company, there would only be one tech company per solution
Verb applied for a patent around posting to social media if I remember. Also one last November on Verb Live. How many more they applied for, you'll just have to wait and see.
Takes 6-18 months for the application to be published so that someone doesn't just try to copy it and modify it slightly the next day. You may see it popup if you look for it one day. That is being published, not necessarily approved but they have some approved one
One thing about patents. You sometimes have to keep updating them as technology keeps evolving and as you add new ideas.
Another one of Verb's application updates, just got published this week on October 22, 2020
You can find them on Google, Justia and the US gov patent site. They aren't all under the same names so if you only find one, there are more. Unless you are technical, you likely won't understand most of what they are talking about but a few things like tracking eye movements you would.
