Three metro Detroit resturants have been acquired by the restaurant group widely known for its Andiamo(ANDI) chain of Italian restaurants and Joe Muer Seafood restaurants.
The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group (JVRG) announced Wednesday it added The Hill Seafood & Chop House in Grosse Pointe Farms, Triple Nickel in Birmingham and Buc’eez Pub in Macomb Township to its portfolio. All three restaurants were acquired in September.
“We are thrilled to be adding these restaurants to our growing restaurant group," said Joe Vicari, president of the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group. "Each property has been a local favorite for each community they serve, and they fit really well into our plans for offering a great local gathering place with a unique atmosphere and exceptional food choices for our guests.”

At The Hill Seafood & Chop House, the ownership will be a co-partnership with JVRG and Anthony Soave from Soave Enterprises, according to a news release. The JVRG will run the day-to-day operations. Chef Bryan Hartway, the head chef for Joe Muer Seafood Bloomfield Hills, will move to The Hill Seafood & Chop House in the same capacity.
The Triple Nickel in Birmingham has been closed since March when the pandemic first hit Michigan. Billed as a an American-style restaurant and bar, the Triple Nickel is undergoing renovation and will reopen as the Birmingham Pub. A late November opening is anticipated, with a menu featuring American comfort foods.
Buc’eez Pub in Macomb Township, also closed for renovations, will reopen as Barleycorn’s Public House. A late November opening is planned with a new menu that includes bar foods along with gourmet entrees.
With the addition of these three restaurants, 25 restaurants are now under the group's umbrella. The JVRG said it is adding about 150 new employees.

The acquisition comes on the heels of the restaurant group's September announcement of its new American and French-style bistro planned for the ground floor of the new City Club Apartments CBD in downtown Detroit.
The Statler Bistro, named after the historic Statler Hotel that once occupied the site, is expected to open in January.
Offering 175 seats, The Statler Bistro will occupy half of the first floor of the City Club Apartments building on Washington Boulevard near Grand Circus Park. A large outdoor patio seating area is also planned.
The restaurant groups portfolio includes eight Andiamo Italian locations and two Joe Muer Seafood restaurants as well as Brownies on the Lake, The Country Inn locations and 29/41 Mediterranean Street Food with five Michigan locations.
