" In general lines, tumor cells respond to cytotoxic chemotherapy in an accelerated fashion either by differentiation (which is linked to inhibition of proliferation), arrest of cell division (which is linked to senescence), or cell death (which is caused by DNA damage or inhibition of RNA transcription). In contrast to chemotherapies, therapeutic vaccines primarily target the immune system, which subsequently attacks the tumor. This can be a long process that can take several weeks to achieve complete development, but it results in the generation of a tumor-specific immune memory that slows down tumor cell growth rates via a continuous immune pressure derived from dynamic tumor immune surveillance. Such an effective antitumor immune response may establish a tumor growth equilibrium, resulting in prolonged overall survival (OS)."
Hence why mRNA will not be a long term solution. It will cause as many problems, or more, than they solve.
