NP did box himself into a corner by saying 'results on Friday'. If discussions with the FDA were not complete and looked to not be by Friday then the vaguely worded PR would make sense to buy time as no decision or information could be disclosed at that time. To me the PR could be "We are not finished yet" vs "FDA says no EUA"
That's exactly what I suggested earlier. It might be tru because it is the simplest. The FDA is taking more time than they'd said they would, because the government always takes more time than they said they would. True to form. The committee suggested to Nader last week that they'd be done by the end of this week, but they're not done. He doesn't want to stay silent, because he never wants to stay silent. True to form.
In short, he doesn't know yet. He thinks he'll know by Tuesday, but he's not even sure of that yet.
Everyone is acting in character. Government delays, Nader talks too often. Water flows downhill, and I make overly optimistic posts.
Imagine if the FDA representatives wanted to give an EUA. After all the missteps, they'd want to talk to Hahn, and Hahn would want to talk to Trump, and Trump is hard to get ahold of. Maybe Trump, burned by Remesdevir, doesn't really want to think about it. He has more important things to talk about, like QAnon being against pedophiles and a wet laptop and bin-Laden being alive.
Probably I'm very wrong. Certainly the trial has not been halted. Certainly there is no EUA yet. But even if the decision was to keep going with the trial, why wouldn't that be PRed on Friday night? Why wait till Tuesday.
Because just maybe it hasn't happened yet. Nothing has happened. So it goes.
