Is there a reason why what is happening in Europe won't happen here when we are arguably doing less than they are (or at least more resistant to doing things than they are)?

Talking about a 2-week circuit breaker there. At least their government is paying their citizens' payroll. Today's unemployment report showed increase after being steady for the past few weeks. There's lots of talk in all media (establishment, youtube, etc.) of a lot of small businesses about to go under without a stimulus (could have been avoided if we followed Europe's model...) and how difficult it will be for these businesses to resurrect themselves post pandemic.
We are phucked worse than they are. If we shut down again, it'll definitely permanently close a large swath of small businesses since there isn't any stimulus package to sustain them. So we won't shut down resulting in some business closures and CV19 continuing to spread uncontrollably due to some of us still clinging onto false narratives about it being fake or it not being as bad as our eyes and ears tell us.
I suppose its good for shareholders of leronlimab as this keeps the pressure on the EFFda to get the best available drug out there, if only they were being earnest about it.
