I think you're trying reference Bruce's TedX talk, which is a succinct lecture and worth watching, however I take issue with this vague and inaccurate explanation of why Leronlimab isn't an antiviral, followed by some "turbo charged" business which isn't true. Nothing is "turbo charged." or "at full power". PRO140 isn't a car.
To be precise, Leronlimab or PRO 140 is a lab-made antibody that functions as an entry inhibitor.
Entry inhibitors, also known as fusion inhibitors, are a class of antiviral drugs that prevent a virus from entering a cell, for example, by blocking a receptor.
Entry inhibitors are used to treat conditions such as HIV and hepatitis D.
PRO 140, the anti-CCR5 monoclonal antibody, can stop HIV from entering the cell and stop viral replication. It prevents the virus-cell binding at a distinct site in the CCR5 co-receptor without interfering with its natural activity. Unlike other entry inhibitors, PRO 140 is a monoclonal antibody. The mechanism of inhibition is competitive rather than allosteric.
This is in regards to HIV.
In regards to COVID-19, there is a hyper-immune response due to what Dr. Patterson has called "emerging virus" (We have no antibodies, never saw this virus before, in TedTalk) What he observed in his paper, which I established a link to in days past, is worth a read for you to learn, please read it to understand the MOA.
Repolarization of macrophages was described in an animated MOA for breast cancer.
Try not to conflate the MOA in HIV with COVID-19 with Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer, it is confusing.
