I don't usually comment about this subject on the board, but MLR, you are absolutely right.
As moderators we work together to figure out who these obscure aliases are so they do not pollute our board with calculated attacks and loaded posts.
A recent example was when someone from the other site came on with an obscure (1 previous post) alias and posted a link on Hangout to an event in December, then copied and pasted a non-committal reply to that post on his board, and used it to claim someone here had pushed the timeline out further. Made up b/s, done by 1 person using multiple aliases to try to make the honest, truthful people look bad/wrong/whatever. This is also one of the people using other aliases to send some of the nasty PMs people have been receiving. These are the sick minded people we do our best to keep off our board.
Another situation we encounter is, (suspected Nigerian based) scammers pretending to be a group, or groups pretending to be one person....either pleading with mods to participate in pump and dump activities, OR trying to create a P & D situation by using multiple aliases across multiple boards. When these people post on our board, we delete them quicker than a robin can fly into a plate glass window thinking he was going to play with the other robin.
So if anyone is wondering....what happened to so&so's post", or "why do they always delete such&such"....there are good reasons for the deletions.
