And, I know that there is a good deal of concern that if we have to complete the phase 3 trial that it will take a while, and others will beat us to market and steal all of the marketshare.
I hope that we do get vaccines and therapeutics that are effective as fast as possible, even if they dont include Leronlimab. Our collective goal as a society should be to get out of this as quickly as possible, even if it means LL is left at the alter.
However, the reality is that the trials and approvals of others wont move as quickly as we fear. Some wont be as efficacious as they claim, and ultimately the treatment of this virus will likely require a multitude of approaches,
Additionally, and unfortunately, this virus is more likely to be with us 5 years from now, than it is to be extinguished 5 months from now. The very best case scenario is actually a combination of vaccines and therapeutics. The more that we can vaccinate, the less people that will need therapeutics. However, therapeutics will be needed for some time.
I would challenge everyone to view this as an opportunity for all of the therapeutics to be quickly expand usage around the world, rather than view it as a shrinking market. The reality is that the demand for therapeutics is currently so much larger than the collective ability of all MAB manufactures to provide, that the market will not reach saturation for some time. Likely years.
All in my opinion of course. At the end of the day, the results of CD12 are all that matter when it comes to COVID.
