The prez's situation is so not typical - he gets tested everyday, with the best and fastest testing kits. In the real world we need treatments for people that may have the virus for 5 days or more before they get a test. There are small towns or underserved areas. They don't have unlimited budgets and resources at their beck and call. Real people have limit insurance available to them etc. So keep in mind how atypical his situation is. The world is a big place (hint - its more than just the 52 states) with lots of needs.
things to keep in mind :
a) play the right game (and not try to play someone elses, but the one best for you). If you have a good product (and we do) and a good plan (okay, we sort of do) - play your game. Sometimes thats hard to do. LL's game at the moment is it needs real data to sell to the FDA. That's the only thing it needs. For BLA. For C-19. Its data. Not just some data, but lots of it in high N values. Even NP has said that when loosing his cool. Stay the course with CD12 as long as we are allowed, don't panic. You want that higher N value. You need to prove it works, not just suggest it works.
I don't think the FDA is against us etc. Bring them good data with a high N. Some peer reviewed papers. Make that data public (so other scientists may review it). You have a solid case. You might not need the last few for EUA - but we are going to need data at a reasonable N that people feel good that the results are typical and not just a data blip.
The high quality data , papers etc - thats also how you beat the shorts - remove their thesis.
b) don't panic - look at today's news - there are side effects about virus candidates. Unfortunately the world is a long way from a solid candidate. It has bits here and there, thats all. We have great science, safety and we probably can handle mutations in the virus (thats huge by the way). We don't know the side effect on our gene's etc for some of these new medications/vaccines (they are all doing very tricky things with RNA etc) from the other offerings. It's a long way to the end.
c) understand your products benefits, and then out execute. Do you know who is going to love LL - the insurance companies. We save them money (one shot , take a second shot in a weeks time , go home and stay away from everyone for 2 weeks or so). Understand the needs of your target market.
d) Once you have product market fit or good data its going to work - then spend the money. We have that now with BLA already (in the end game with luck) and even LL - the EIND and M/M trial. So now scale and spend. Raise and spend to get CD12. Raise capital as fast as you can if you need to - because on the other side is your market.
e) the market size on this is huge (unfortunately). C-19 is so huge in size it's scary. And there will only be a few players - because only a few things work. And each one may work best in a situation the other doesn't.
I personally feel we have a place. A pretty good one.
