Any Blackjack Players here? Maybe slots or poker players? I've been in the Casino industry for well over 20 yrs as an instructor/teacher and designer to now a floor sup/dealer (now semi retired). I love the business, and it has nothing to do with gambling, at least the way a player looks at it. First I've never sat down to play the table games, but I must admit I once played a slot machine.(won $200 so I'm ahead $180 lol) My point is everything with gambling, to most people, seem to think it's math or probability, but mostly Luck. Even though math is important, it is the psychology of the people playing the games that makes the casino their money. Have you ever heard the saying that we as humans are our own worst enemy? To my point! The stock market (and peoples emotions) are exactly how people react when they gamble and the type of gamblers that I deal with daily. We have the analytical ie CTmedic, ohm20, Borel Fields where math and probability drive them(with fingers crossed that they are correct). Then there are the emotional players ie JLang, ClosetInvester, SAF where win the cards are in their favor they can't stop smiling and when the cards turn they are the blamers, it's everyone eles's fault they are losing ( sorry, not getting personal )and of coarse you can't forget my favorite, the "Just wanna have fun" players ie Respert24, Shelly2626, peacekat. Win, lose or draw they understand the consequences of gambling and are willing to except the end results and even though it may be nerve racking while they play..... Life goes on! My (other) point is, Don't be your own worst enemy. Trust yourself, whats the worst that's going to happen? If we win, lose or draw, as someone said earlier on a post, I believe it was Respert24 ( as he was sitting on the throne LOL!) .....Move on or as the group Kansas says" carry on my wayward son. For there'll be peace when you are done." May the card gods and the FDA be good to us all!
