The BOD (including CEO) are responsible to execute a company's objectives and philosophy.
When COVID came along management ascertained that LL could be beneficial in the treatment of COVID.
The company moved rapidly into documenting and proposing to FDA the use of LL for this condition. Drs. Patterson and Seethamraju contributed greatly at different stages, pushing forward LL for COVID.
As far as I am concerned, they (BOD) have done their job beyond reproach. The response was swift and, in part, for a couple of good luck events (COVID's stubbornness and Dr's Seethamraju "cojones" ) we are pretty much main actors in this area.
This is not an easy feat.
We have an ongoing P3 trial with good possibilities of success. This is what a Biotech company is supposed to do. Produce drug(s) for treatment of conditions such that them (patients) get better and shareholders wealthier.
But you all know this. My point here is that I believe management have done their job. Regardless of results as they depend on whether LL works for COVID-19 or not (the science). That is beyond their responsibility.
We should consider ourselves happy to be long in a drug that might succeed. And soon. As we speak data is being analyzed that could produce the first drug approved for COVID-19 after (honest) clinical trials.
Whether interim of full P3, well, again, is the moa. As simple as that. There is no guarantee. Neither that it will work at all. But, again, this is exactly that investing on Biotech means ...
Right ???
I am optimistic in that we have done "our" job, which is to try. And I believe that we will get good results.
Next few weeks will be important for the COVID world and, hopefully, for our bank accounts.
