Why do so many people come to the conclusion that because the deal(s) didn't happen that NP must have bungled it somehow? Just because he CAN get a deal for $40 million doesn't mean it's a good deal. People lending money aren't in the business of losing money when they make an offer. See mortgages, auto loans, payday loans, and literally every other loan in existence*. We don't know how good or how bad those offers have been but there's a near zero chance that the deals were amazing and NP couldn't comprehend that fact before saying no for some reason only the Investors Hangout community can see.
*I'm sure there's some obscure loan that has no relevance but negates that sentence. Don't be a jerk. You get my point.
It really goes for everything. We see or hear about a tiny portion of what's going on behind the scenes. I like to watch videos as much as the next guy, trying to determine if NP used his right or left hand to lift his mug as an indication that he's about to drop a major PR. Wondering if the poster board in the background has hidden clues if we could only zoom in close enough OMG IF YOU TAKE THE FIRST LETTER OF EACH SENTENCE IT SAYS "TRIPLE DIGITS BY NOVEMBER" YOU GUYSSSSSS!
Long story short, I really appreciated NP's breakdown in the interview of how quickly he and the team have gotten Leronlimab ready for primetime. It's usually fifteen years for a drug to come to market. One billion dollars to bring a drug to market. We're doing pretty good here if you look at the timeline and the dollars. Pay attention to the science and the trajectory. As long as the science is sound and the trajectory is up/forward, there's no need to fret over everything that hasn't happened yet. Keep a watchful, educated eye on the process and the players, of course. But let's be reasonable about where we were, where we are, and where we are going. So many folks going straight to the best or worst explanation/result for everything without considering the much more likely grey area the answer likely resides in.
Also, Ohm deserves the first RESPY award of 2020 for his out of the blue "Dear Diary" post. Well crafted, witty, and completely unexpected as mostly he just drops science bombs. Well done, Ohm.
