You're wrong!
Cytodyn has received no funding from any government source so far because they haven't ask for any. They have their reasons and I am not going to spin a conspiracy theory for why not or bash management like you want to do.
They are a small company (were 10 people at the time) and it is enough of a burden to just deal with the FDA. COVID-19 hit them sideways as it did us all and they are trying to cope while pursuing the other uses for Leronlimab.
Looking back, we may judge that it was a mistake not to ask of funds but I believe they believed that if you just build a better mousetrap, the funds would flow just as you "logically" assumed.
But the bigger mistake in not asking for funding was it has cost us time when time is needed to culture monoclonal antibodies. Also you have to muscle your way into a production queue that is presently packed.
The UK is, hopefully, acting more "logically" and funds may flow.
As I said before, Cytodyn leaders have my respect, not my scorn. I want to help them achieve our goal, not bash them from a position of hindsight.
