I was at the park yesterday and this boy was standing at the swing crying. I asked him what was wrong and he said the swing is leaving me. I promised him that it would come back. Every time it did he smiled, and every time it went away he cried.

I tried to explain to him that its swings back and forth, and it would be ok. But he continued alternating between elation and utter dismay.
