I posted about this issue after the CC when Tony spoke. When he mentioned it was approved by Medicare I expected that meant we would see Excellagen in non VA systems. Per Joe, unfortunately the way civilian doctors, clinics, and hospitals bill insurance they would wind up having their reimbursement significantly reduced for part of their procedures. The VA system is basically self insured and the doctors will use whatever resource the VA has provided. Hence the reason the VA contract is such a big deal for Generex.
IMO, what we can hope for is enough efficacy and utilization in the VA system that Medicare/Medicaid and HMO's catch on and start requiring. This would be a slow(years) process. Maybe the AZ MSO could help with a study which may show how it is a superior product????
