Evidence for inflammation in Lewy body dementia not as clear as Alzheimer’s. However, it appears that inflammation is becoming the prime suspect.

“Our findings provide evidence for both central and peripheral inflammatory changes in dementia with Lewy bodies, with microglial activation occurring early in the disease in key regions known to be associated with pathology, before declining as cognition declines.”
Unfortunately, the rate at which these indications are explored will never be fast enough for those currently afflicted.
Off-label use after the first approval will likely be the most immediate path to treatment for many patients.
