How many doses per liter after concentration and packaging? That is something I have had difficulty determining.
This information is quite dated and may not have been accurate even in its heyday. Hopefully someone with more knowledge will chime in.
However, back in May my understanding was:
- Samsung Biologics is using a 180,000 liter bioreactor for leronlimab
- The batch yield from that bioreactor is 1.2M - 350mg vials
- Each dose for COVID is 700mg (2-vials) -- administered as 2-separate 350mg abdominal shots
- Most patients have been receiving a total of 2-doses injected over two weeks (4-vials)
- There are plans for 3-doses for very Severe/Critical Patients (6-vials) – the first dose administered via IV
- There is also a possibility that Mild cases might only require 1-dose (2-vials) -- this has not been tested
Samsung produces 1.2M vials per batch
Each dose requires 2-vials
A Samsung batch represents 600k doses
- Those 600k doses can treat 300k patients (4-vials) Using current dosing standards
- Those 600k doses can treat 200k patients (6-vials) For very Severe/Critical dosing
- Those 600k doses can treat 600k patients (2-vials) Assuming possible Mild dosing
At the time, and with the help of CDiddy, I estimated Unit Pricing and calculated the impact of COGS, Royalty Payments, and Distribution Costs -- on Gross Revenue. I also calculated potential stock prices based various P/E multiples applied to Net Revenue. However, so much has changed (and become quite complicated -- see remdesivir pricing) that I don't feel it is worth including those calculations here.
