The recent groundswell by leronlimab advocates on #AskFDA, Dr.Yo and his Change.Org petition, Dr.Been, Dr.Drew, and other YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook posts has impressed me.
Still, I feel there's negative bias by the FDA. And I think several highly-respected long-timers here (ohm20, misiu143, and others) would agree that the FDA intentionally slow-walked our Combo HIV BLA. In other words, they "delay(ed) a legitimate drug that can significantly reduce the illness".
HIV was/is considered by some as being a pandemic, and by others as being a epidemic. Either way, there was never a groundswell of leronlimab advocates making as much noise about HIV approval as we are currently seeing with COVID.
However, the events of the past couple of months suggest to me that we are in uncharted territory where anything can happen. I remain cautiously optimistic.
