I think it does show character when one admits that they made a mistake but it also is a bigger indication of character that as a leader in the medical response to this virus, he stand up to power and tell the truth about what he is saying. You know he had to have know that the data didn't back up what he was saying. If not, he is not qualified to hold the position he has.
We as an overall population have to be able to trust those that lead the fight against pandemics and watch out for our safety. They are making Cytodyn jump through the hoops with valid data and formatted the way that they want it. I think this will be a good thing in the long run since the data will be there to back up the PR release.
Have a backbone and stand up to power and tell the truth in the beginning. A change of concscious two days later after all the hype is not helping anyone.
