I am in favor of approval for ANY CV19 treatments that are safe and have some incremental improvement. With that said, the bar is currently very low for effective CV19 therapies. Note how the following was spun as a “breakthrough” and where the 35% improvement in mortality rate statistic came from:
“The crux of the case for plasma — centering on the idea that blood from convalescent patients is teeming with the antibodies needed to fight off the virus — lies in a placebo-less trial conducted by the Mayo Clinic which showed that patients who got a plasma treatment within 3 days of diagnosis were less likely to die than patients who got it 4 days or later after diagnosis — with a mortality rate of 8.5% compared to 11.9%.”
