I’m ever the optimist, so I’m now thinking stage setting. After today’s press conference during which Operation Warp Speed was repeatedly mentioned, I’m considering the strong likelihood that Trump and his administration, to accrue political capital, will continue to want to take credit for subsequent drug approvals.
If claiming credit is a condition for approval, let's hope the recent Operation Warp Speed contact with CytoDyn sets the stage for leronlimab to begin receiving some type of federal support (which Dr. BP hinted at this week) so that Trump can later claim he had a hand in supporting this tiny biotech with a huuuge dream when it does finally get approved.
I hope we hear Trump at the next presser say, “Leronlimab, it was only made possible because of Operation Warp Speed.”
