I disagree that the media dislikes hyroxychloroquine foley because it was pushed by Trump. I believe the media, and I believe as well, dislike the fact the HCQ was to aggressively and continuously advocated in advance of demonstrative evidence of efficacy.
Remember that this push started from anecdotal reports from a French physician. As has been discussed repeatedly, every drug has a proper indication, dose, route and right time of administration.
HCQ may absolutely be effective in the initial virology stage of the disease.
However, the process of finding effective therapeutics for the latter/immunologic phase has been derailed by all the attention focused on vaccines, remdesevir and HCQ. Only in the last few weeks have there been any appropriate shift back in right direction, IMO. Even the huge Regeneron mAb study still focuses on blocking the virus rather than restoring the immune system.
The world is absolutely concerned about saving lives. But remember that this President has been more concerned about controlling the narrative over Covid than fighting Covid.
The disease was going to "Magically go away" until it didn't.
We are finally moving in the right direction some of the recent actions President Trump has taken, but time was lost at the outset.
It is disingenuous to ignore that while excoriating the media.
