I thought it was interesting in a Nader interview he outlined the purpose of the p2 is to form a protocal for a p3. It sounded like Nader was saying that generally, the p2 results show where and how a drug works and that is what you trial in the p3. In this case, all aspects of the p2 trial showed efficacy and safety so a p3 does not really have a purpose. We assume a p3 trial is all about a larger trial size but in reality it is a narrowed down and focused trial born out of a broad p2. We already have all the safety data and the p2 trial shows the drug works.
