Do I disagree that Gilead used its political power to push the drug? No, but the data showed it reduced duration of hospitalization, regardless if they shifted the endpoint or not. Does Remdesevir actually reduce progression to hospitalization or deaths? No, it’s more of a tamiflu for COVID, which also doesn’t reduce hospitalizations or deaths in influenza patients.
My opinion is that EUA is unlikely for the M2M population. The market doesn’t think so either based on the drop on SP after the data PR. Is the market always right? No, but apparently CYDY doesn’t think it’s likely either after filing for EUA in a number of foreign countries. I hope I’m wrong, but I still believe the severe trial is what will earn the EUA leronlimab deserves.
