It was stated beforehand that the DSMC was meeting on August 3rd to evaluate safety. The company put out a p.r. on August 4th that the DSMC found no reasons to modify the study due to safety. There is NO way that the DSMC could have evaluated efficacy in 1 day (meet on the 3rd, make determination on the 4th). As we have learned, it takes weeks to compile efficacy data.
