Have you guys read this bio on our GNBT CIO? Pretty impressive. Hard to believe we have poor financing and stock price performance with experience of this type on our BOD. Mr Ro is a smart guy and an experienced trader.
Andrew Ro - Chief Investment Officer and a Director
Mr. Ro has served as our Chief Investment Officer and a Director since January 2017. Mr. Ro has over 25 years of experience in the financial markets ranging from trading global futures and equity markets, senior secured debt, convertible securities, private investments in public equities (PIPEs) and investing. From 2012 to 2017, Mr. Ro was a consultant and advisor involved in developing strategies in specialty finance for healthcare, technology, real estate, media, entertainment, energy and project financing. From 2008 to 2012,.Mr. Ro was a consultant and registered representative with boutique investment and merchant banks where he consulted and advised US and international companies on capital markets, operational, and regulatory issues as well as being involved in capital raising, mergers & acquisitions, and strategic implementation. From 2002 to 2008, Mr. Ro was a Partner with an active Investment Fund where he was involved in originating, structuring, negotiating and closing financing transactions providing growth capital, acquisition financing, recapitalization, restructuring and general working capital to late-stage venture, distressed and middle market companies across all industries and sectors. Mr. Ro originated and structured over $2 billion in total commitments and managed a portfolio of over $650 million in investments. Previously, Mr. Ro was a trader involved in trading financial and non-financial derivatives where he eventually developed a FinTech platform for trading futures and commodities. Mr. Ro graduated from George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He also held Series 3, Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
