I agree! The government is also not a monolith but includes competing power groups and their proxies. However their competition is systemic. It is a necessary condition of the system's very existence. They are at war up to a certain point and band together immediately and without fail against any systemic danger be it at home or internationally. Yes, Gilead will be hit big time because HIV its major source of profits. But what about cancers? NASH? Alzheimer? Dozens of other major conditions which altogether account for the bulk of BP revenues? Overnight their drugs will become obsolete and they will have to come up with something even better than LL. Having said this I by no means think we should give up and become intimidated by the power of the system. We should exploit any crack in its monolith and keep looking for partners. Your idea of calling to House committees is great and I wish some eloquent board members suggest how better we can phrase our communications.
