I have not been on in a while. But I wanted to share a brief story. Before I went to medical school one of my mentors left the university to start one of the first bio-tech companies in the US, I had the opportunity to buy in with the little money I had. Four years later, while interviewing for a surgical residency, Dr. Steven Rosenberg (chair of surgery at NCI) was the speaker at grand rounds, the chair of surgery told the audience that we had seen the finest scientific papers. He reported his experiments with t cell modification from test tube and then the results of his human trials for cancer. He quipped the industry partner, my company! Two days later Tom Brokaw interviewed in his lab and reported "we have a cure for cancer". Dr. Rosenberg was the first to introduce this approach of adoptive immuno-oncology and at 79 is going strong.
Dr. Bruce Patterson is in that caliber, He will have no problem patenting his immuno-florescence assay of receptor occupancy, he already holds over 80 patents. I only wish I could invest in his company!
Oh, what happened with my 4 year hold in the biotech I almost forgot about it. I sold it and paid for four years of my medical school.
