Two different governors. One of them is an idiot.

AKA 'beliefs' VS scientific data based decision making.
Gov. Tate Reeves of Mississippi said that he would not issue a statewide mask order, even though cases and hospitalizations in his state were soaring to new highs. “If I believed that was the best way to save lives in my state, I would have done it a long time ago,” he said of mask orders on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday.
Benighted beliefs = more dead people but, whatever.
He said he preferred a “surgical approach” with precautions varying county by county, and added: “It’s not about the words you write on the page. It’s not about these words like ‘mandate.’ It’s about how do you get the majority of your citizens to actually adhere to doing what’s right.”
Gov. Jared Polis of Colorado defended his decision to issue a statewide mask mandate that took effect Friday, pointing to data suggesting that local mask orders in his state were tied to lower case numbers. “The mask mandate was really an easy decision after I saw that data,” Mr. Polis, a Democrat, said on ABC’s ‘This Week’ on Sunday. New cases have been rising for the past month, nearing the tallies recorded during the peak of the crisis in Colorado in April. But deaths remain far lower.
