The issue is the host's own immune system probably won't produce effective antibodies in this scenario... the logistics of getting everyone injected at the same general time and hoping to "stamp out" the pandemic are next to impossible, and that might be what it takes. Also, 3-6 months seems unlikely... they would likely be broken down well before 3 months.
