It certainly appears that there may be multiple approaches to combat cytokine storms. Humanigen’s lenzilumab ( I own there stock as well, though a small fraction of my Cytodyn position) has a strong likelihood of helping Covid patients, as well cancer patients experiencing cytokine storm from CAR-T inflammation. Blocking GM-CSF to prevent creation of a cascade of new hyper inflammatory cells has great potential(IMO not to the level of leronlimab/CCR5 blockade.
We should applaud all the emerging therapies (excepting hydroxychloroquine) as it is going to take multiple approaches to win against Covid 19 and whatever comes next.
I don’t believe individual physicians are skewing the investigational process, as much as important governmental officials racing to choose winners wat ahead of the science.
