Re: Sierra #6606
You mention color change and that made me go back to the NNLX site post on the Viral Assay for a reread. The text indicates it IS based on a color change. Since we have faith as far as I know in Faro and Rogers as high level professionals I am hoping that this test that seems so much advanced over the "collect and send to a lab" versions of "at home" tests receives the attention it deserves.

Rapid Viral Assay

The test provides a method for rapid, highly specific and sensitive detection and quantification of a virus by observing viral substrate binding to its host receptor protein. It also provides a method for rapid, highly specific and sensitive detection and quantification of a virus in an individual suspected of being infected with a virus. The technology further provides a test kit for rapid, highly specific and sensitive point-of-care detection of a virus in an individual. The surprisingly rapid, specific and sensitive method of the invention provides a point-of care test capable of diagnosing individuals suffering from COVID-19 by observation of a color change in the assay, in about five minutes. The full lab version of the test can be completed by a user in just under one hour, while the home-user abbreviated version is projected to deliver results in about 30 minutes.
While the initial focus for development was for the COVID-19 virus, it became obvious that the technology is not limited to one virus, but can be configured for many different viruses, such as HIV, HPV, Hepatitis, MERS, SARS-1 and others. As per the patent filing, the description is “Without Limitation”.
