For a licensing deal, there are several components.
1. An upfront amount. You guys can speculate.
2. A percentage of wholesale. Gross wholesale, not net wholesale price. Usually between 6% - 12%. I'd say around 7%.
3. Minimum guarantees. This can be per month, per quarter, per year. I'd say in the millions. This way, they can't license and sit on it.
4. Guaranteed amount spent on marketing. Once again: per quarter, per year. What's the plan?
5. Duration of the license. I'd guess 3 year minimum but I don't know what is normal in pharmaceutical world.
We can speculate about the price of a test. Some sell for hundreds, surprisingly some thousands. I've heard as much as $30,000 per kit being charged to ins. co.
I find it hard to believe myself. It does put in perspective, however, how hard other companies may fight to keep nnlx out of the picture. Somebody is going to lose...really big...if/when nnlx comes to the forefront as the game changer it is.
I think the need is so great, there is room for everybody right now. But it won't stay that way and losers aren't going down without swinging.
