It's also hard to make real life connections right now -- meaning the families aren't even in the hospital so they're not forming the same relationships with staff there that might later lead to a well developed narrative that might turn into a press piece later. Certainly no sweet hospital photos happening...
And with recent protests taking the spotlight plus the sheer volume of COVID coverage for three months, I think we're on a diet right now of that news. I also do not think that will last long.
I also think a few blockbuster announcements about drugs that couldn't truly deliver may have take the available energy - and perhaps the trust on the part of the press. That is super frustrating and it probably cost many families their loved ones, but ultimately the mechanism of the drug will be proven to effectively treat the virus. The pathway has just been really unexpected (par for the course for 2020, right?).
