It's not science time that is doing the killing; i

It's absurd that a safe drug like leronlimab that has a wealth of tantalizing anecdotal data and excellent lab support for MOA that would explain clinicals CANNOT be used by doctors and patients even though there is no alternative. It's mind boggling.
My fear is that leronlimab trials will have those beautiful results that will shock the world in a few weeks, and we'll look back at the huge number of people whose lives could have been saved and the vastly greater numbers of people who could have been saved the devastating weeks or months of debilitating disease and recovery time.
I guess the rationale is that there are dozens of medicines that are in the works, the vast majority of which will have no effect and many of which are harmful. If they all went out to the public, it would be hard to figure out which were working and which weren't because the data would be a chaotic mess. Also, if everything were out there in the field, it would make it even harder to run good trials.
Damn! Why the bleep did NIAID pick remdesivir to push over the finish line in record time, running a massive and elaborate trial, changing the primary metric midstream, and ostentatiously tout an anti-viral that doesn't reduce viral load as the SOC?! Should've been us. The world would have opened up a lot faster with far less suffering.
