"exactly what will happen"... This is why sample size is so important. If there are 51 in the trial and 17 in the placebo arm, then 10-20% is 2-3. Overall rate of ventilation would be 0.04-0.06. It would not be much of a surprise to see 2/17 vs 0/34 if leronlimab were no better than a placebo. No statistical significance. If there are 75 in the trial, the 10-20% would be 3-5 patients/25, which, compared with 0/50, would be strong statistical significance.
