It really seems like the FDA is clearing the way to getting leronlimab approved for covid ASAP. It could be that as we have been repeating that they know the drug is safe and now that the data is supporting effectiveness that they have no reason to not put pedal to the metal. The trial design might just be the least important part, they just want enough of a double blind placebo trial to hang a hat on and it is go. I always wondered why the m2m was only 75 patients and the severe was 390, seems like this is backwards. Could also be that the fda is actually getting outside pressure to get this done, maybe the Mexico trial is actually working to make the fda not want to be after their approval? The timing could not be better, with the malaria drug and rem falling from the headlines, leronlimab will be popping up to offer real hope.
