I remember when I was 15 I saw some cops while I was walking and went a different way to avoid
White 15 year old, you knew it wasn't going to be officer friendly
Didn't want a confrontation
You know, Skinny white kid # target
What I didn't want, I got
Harassed me, pushed me around and said some shit you can't take back
The turning trick?
Some very bad shit to a 15 year old, really bad in an alley with no one around
I wasn't breaking any law
That night and every other time I was around a cop
I wanted to reach...
Truth is, my Dad some much worse thing to me

Maybe that is what is missing in parenting

I remember undercover cops pulling me over for doing 60 over
How dare they!
That was my top speed in my MGB GT
My, non S Healey would only do 70mph
My Triumph, now that 6 would kick S, non S though
Snow on the ground
Bald tires on wire wheels
Yeah, I might have been going a tad over
"Can we see your license?"

I got a couple of crickets... I mean a few previous tickets
Try them out of your pocket while handcuffed in the back seat
I was one of 4 cars speeding that night

I was the only dude in a foreign car
3 others were doing 110 mph
I get youth

Even back then, cops really gave me a hard time

Driving home a drunk guy from a bar
Turned left, hard left...
Drunk guy said, you know that was a cop?
I said thank god I had two wheel on the ground or I'd be in some shit
They said I had only two wheels on the ground when they pulled me over
I said which two?
I said, you should see the shit I can do with one big wheel...
Didn't go over well
I remember that same car I was trying to push start
Cops pulled up and said, "Nice night to steal a car"
They smiled when they said that
Good cops
They deescalated the situation
Funny thing, I couldn't find the keys at that moment
Guy with me was a Vietnam vet
He as wearing the jacket he wore there
He kept walking
Kept walking down the block
"Hey where is you friend going?"
Maybe looking for my keys?
Guy asked me a year later to bail him out of jail
Seems he was caught walking out of Walgreens with a case a beer without paying
Seems like looting before looting was popular today
I bail him out
I got a lot of shit from the police for doing it
Seems there were patterns
Guy owned me $300
Now another $100 for bail
Never saw a penny of it
$400 to figure out who is full of shit?
Worth it
And that was back in a day I made a few bucks an hour
200 hours
Sometimes in life it might take you a life time to figure out who are your friends
200 hours well worth it
Wasn't about the money anyway

This is where it hurts me...
He was a social worker for vets at the VA
Guy didn't need to steel beer
Last time I talked to him was when I picked him up from jail
You want to get over cops?
You are naive as to how systemic this goes
My city, now the neighborhood that need the stores and the jobs, are the most are getting hit
What will happen next is every citizen standing up for justice

Looting is robbing. It's a crime
When you rob, you are putting a knee to not only the store owner neck, but their employees
Back in the day of democracy, you could elect people willing to make a change
