Yup... unless you go for a trial where they give SOC + x. Knowing what I know now, with diseases like mTNBC I'd always go for an experimental drug that is likely to be relatively safe, since SOC is basically a death-sentence after a year or so...
But also that stupid requirement in the compassionate use study of continuing chemo: if chemo hasn't worked/doesn't work anymore why not give a perfectly safe drug as monotherapy as a last resort. Stupid FDA/protocol...
