The incident was believed to be caused by a faulty can liner. The cans were tested prior to canning, but if you know anything about can liners, it’s a huge sheet which is cut into small pieces for the inside of cans. They believe there were places within the liner that were very thin causing the breakdown in the can. It did not occur right away where you could have caught it and stopped the run. The warehouse staff started noticing a few weeks after the run that a box or two were displaying signs of moisture and you know what they say “all it takes is one bad apple to spoil the rest”. GL was immediately notified of the findings and although they had not experienced it, they took RMHB’s recommendations of not putting product on shelves until further investigation. GL decided to sell online only and RMHB did some of the fulfillment for GL in order to monitor the progress with the cans. Both GL and RMHB have lots of respect for one another and both of course have a mutual partnership with CBD Life. All the cans for CBD Life, Henpd, and Green Lotus were canned at the same facility by the same staff with the same procedures. The only difference was that GL Beverages were canned in a different 12oz slim can and the other Beverages like HEMP’d were in 12oz standard cans and CBD Life in 16oz cans.
All is good between both companies and the relationship is even stronger after going thru this situation and how both companies reacted and dealt with the situation which resulted in a positive outcome for future growth of both companies. Another future run is being scheduled for both flavors of Green Lotus Brands.
