If it is leaking around the lid, then the seamer could have been out of spec, but that would be caught before shipment. Also any packaging damage that usually occurs in the mfg plant is also caught before shipment because you will notice liquid on the floors around the pallets or damaged cardboard tray packs. Any of this could fall back on the co-packer.
Then it goes to shipping and how they were staggered and loaded on the trailers, then also need to visually see if load shifted in trailer before it is unloaded.
There is a vicious world out there and all precautions have got to be taken.
Hopefully the quality control at the new packaging facility is up to the job.
