I've been with nnlx since just before Bret became CEO. I haven't posted in a few years. I used the name longnnlx. I couldn't remember my sign in stuff so now I'm lnnlx. FYI
The new law for patents--
COVID-19 Prioritized Examination Pilot Program for small and micro entities
May 8, 2020 --
had to be registered with the Federal Registry before NNLX could apply for the patent. That registration happened yesterday.

It seems there is a glitch in that registry in that there is a period for comment that goes to July and patents can't be applied for til after that period. That is a mistake. The intention if for patent applications to start now. I doubt it will hold NNLX up but it is something to be aware of.
The part about this program that I find so exciting is that the USPTO understands that the little guy can be the answer man. And in this situation it is true. Go Bret.
Here is their language:
“Independent inventors and small businesses are often the difference makers when it comes to cutting-edge innovation and the growth of our economy,” said Andrei Iancu, Under Secretary of Commerce for Intellectual Property and Director of the USPTO. “They are also in most need of assistance as we fight this pandemic. Accelerating examination of COVID-19-related patent applications, without additional fees, will permit such innovators to bring important and possibly life-saving treatments to market more quickly.”
