Although the chances of this happening are next to zero, I sometimes find myself wondering if the FDA is working very quickly to approve the CytoDyn's HIV Combo indication, so that they can announce to the country that leronlimab, the new SOC for COVID, has no serious side effects and is a FDA approved drug.
Recent events support the notion that there is some level of cross-pollination between the administration and the FDA. And the level of desperation to get the country working again could conceivably cause the administration to 'grease the skid' of the collective consciousness, by providing them with every possible reason to return to work.
Yes, the idea is quite Machiavellian, and probably unlikely -- but I have been thinking about it lately.
