VideoHealth™ is the Future and the Future is NOW! Telemedicine was the early description for using audio and sometime video to extend a doctor's reach when people were in remote areas and out of reach of the service or provider. Telehealth came into vogue when medicine started looking at Prevention, Education, Treatment as a triad to better healthcare. Again video, audio, and digital sensors were starting to be injected as an IT trio to deliver better health outcomes.
Alexander Graham Bell is dead, and now it's "a picture is worth a thousand words.” The era of video is about to take off like an F-16. Video consultation is VideoHealth™, and VideoHealth™ is the Future. A recent study showed that the consumer-centric public are using IT health intervention 43% of the time now, but Video consultation is only at about 5%. VideoHealth™ is one word, not two words, and it's the real time face to face interaction with your provider so he or she can use two of the three principles for a physical exam; inspection and observation.
VideoHealth™ will not be a change in healthcare but a Transformation of how we deliver and receive our healthcare.
Perhaps because of my left handed, right brain, setup I was more intuitive than rational in my thinking. So I found myself on the cutting edge of many firsts in medicine. Some of it was being at the right place at the right time. However, I did have a goal and that was to be the best that I could be. I set my sights on orthopedics long before I got there and this made a lot of things happen that may have not happened otherwise. Now I have VideoHealth™ on the brain! Come fly with me.
