Obviously you do your own DD and are not investing a small amount of money.
Having a model helps a lot in making good decisions.
A model is a model and assumptions are always made. However, the results are as good as the truth (regardless of the inaccuracies inherent) as is the best one can have to plan and execute a strategy.
