So here is an interesting question I was looking for. Why wasn't the ccl5 connection discovered when il-6 was?
So I researched the first hint of IL-6 connection and the earliest I found was the March 10 preprint article with a study conducted on severe patients at Wuhan.

The potential role of IL-6 in monitoring severe case of coronavirus disease 2019
If they would have used the larger Human Inflammation Array Kit, or added the Human Chemokine Kit they might have discovered ccl5 as well, and we would be 2 months ahead of where we are now. Crazy how such a simple decision or change like that could have such a different drastic outcome.
