I respectfully disagree. QD are the vital ingredient to the anticounterfeiting DLT in one use area. Authenticating the test.
We have already seen there are lots of counterfeit tests being sold. No doubt when QMC tests start selling, it's easy to counterfeit the box the test comes in. If successful, high millions of tests will be sold. A QR code can be faked, but not a QD code. It would be feasible to print QD on the box or test itself so that they can be entered into the system and verified by both the systems admin and the test giver.
It's a perfect use case for QD anticounterfeiting.
