Yesterday was a great example of the total disconnect
Yesterday was a great example of the total disconnect between IPIX’s science value proposition and IPIX’s share price (SP). Signing a third MTA with “a leading U.S.-based Public Health Research Institute with access to a Biosafety Level-3 (BSL-3) laboratory” is very positive news as IPIX continues to advance Brilacidin as a treatment and possible adjuvant for a vaccine for COVID-19. Testing will include evaluating Brilacidin’s inhibitory effect on SARS-CoV-2 viral replication in primary immune mediators obtained from both young and old donors to assess age-dependent host responses to the novel coronavirus. IMO this age dependent testing indicates a primary interest to use Brilacidin as a critical adjuvant for a vaccine for this specific MTA.
Separately, testing started at the RBL over the weekend on human lung cells and a successful conclusion to this testing will move Brilacidin to the top of the treatment list and accelerate Brilacidin through phase 3 trials.
So what happened to the SP on this great news? It closed down a tenth of a penny on over 2.7M shares. Is there really as much supply of sellers at 17 cents as there is demand to buy at 17 cents? Anyone with half a brain knows this is bullshit. Let’s start with a reminder of last September’s Shareholder Meeting with a 90% vote FOR expanding Authorized Shares. This is a proof point that Long Term Shareholders have faith in the direction and science advancement of IPIX. Note that since September IPIX’s true value has tremendously increased with a successful B-IBD Oral Phase I using the BDD technology advancing Brilacidin closer to being a major player in a $48B IBD market. Also note that COVID-19 didn’t even exist in September and Brilacidin has not only received valuable free testing but is a top contender as a COVID-19 treatment. The point is that if IPIX Investors continue to strongly support the company and know that IPIX SP is greatly undervalued, then who in their right mind would be selling shares at these levels?
The soft bashers will point to the MFO selling shares which might account for a very small percentage of volume but the math does not simply add up. Leo has dropped expenses down to around $600k/month and currently is very busy getting free research and testing done with numerous entities. If you look at the tape of trades there is an obvious abundance of mirror trades or wash transactions where it is very obvious that volume is artificially inflated (fake).
Any storyline that talks about where we are today as IPIX investors should include 2 major issues. #1 is the great job IPIX has done to advance the science against severe head winds. #2 is the criminal abuse against IPIX and the continual compression of IPIX SP. The soft bashers will post statements like “Gee I wonder why IPIX SP is so low?” Much of the following has been discussed many times and I recently PMed some of this info to a newbie.
Criminal Naked Short Selling (NSS) is a hard concept to understand. If you look at the criminal or Non Retail (NR) pyramid there are the hard bashers on the bottom which are low paid and low knowledge idiots. As you move up the criminal chain there are paid soft bashers that are skilled to be pretend longs and create false narratives and spread FUD. Further up the chain there are trading gangs that are funded by the top of the chain. The next ladder up is crooked Market Makers that not only fill the NSS orders but do daily mirror or wash trades to make the appearance of volume that is mostly fake and do much of the dirty work to compress SP. Towards the top is a hedge fund that is the money behind the entire criminal activity. There may or may not be an entity that is above the hedge fund directing activity.
The logical question is why attack IPIX when it sells for pennies? Legal shorts would not mess around with a 16 cent share company. They would be long gone and off to attack a target with more meat on the bone that has less upside. Naked Short Selling (NSS) however is completely different in that shares are not borrowed which is illegal. NSS has a completely different goal than legal short sellers do. The answer is that the criminals/NR compress the SP of many small start-up, pre-revenue companies on the OTX that need to issue stock to keep the lights on. Baby biotech is an easy target as it takes 10 years on average to get a drug from lab to market. With little or no revenue coming in, their only method of advancing their science is to issue stock. (dilution). The criminals/NR goal is not to simply lower the share price (SP) but it is to PUT THEIR TARGET OUT OF BUSINESS. If their target dilutes to a point where they never get a product/drug to market and their SP goes to zero, the criminals NEVER have to cover their naked position. NR has never legally borrowed IPIX shares to legally short. NR DOES NOT have actual IPIX shares. NR needs REAL INVESTORS TO SELL THEM REAL SHARES. They have illegally shorted a stock WITHOUT borrowing the shares. The SEC pays little attention to abuse on the OTX based companies. 90% of NR's targets go belly up and the criminals (hedge fund and all above) make many millions. BUT maybe 1 out of 10 of these targeted companies do indeed survive. Most of those 10% are heavily diluted if they do survive.
IPIX's CEO Leo Ehrlich however has been very frugal to slowly advance IPIX science and has avoided heavy OS dilution (less than 270M shares) or taking on toxic debt. IMO NR will continue to control IPIX SP until it is in the dollars per share. Once funding becomes a non-issue and Brilacidin makes it through phase 3 and starts to produce revenue, NR will START to lose control of SP. A $3 to $5 SP IMO will only be the START of a huge run over the next few years. Some Long term investors will start selling a PORTION of their holdings once IPIX SP is into several dollars per share at which point NR will SLOWLY have to buy ACTUAL shares to cover their naked position. If NR tried for example to cover their naked position starting with flippers and some Longs at say $2 or $3/share the SP would explode upward due to lack of supply.
IMO an investment in IPIX should be focused on MILESTONES and not short term share price or volume which are both currently controlled by NR and therefore are both fake. This control will change as milestones are met with science advancement, grant funding, royalty revenue, up-listing, partnerships and at some point in the future the sale of the company. These milestone achievements will not only lift IPIX’s SP but will also neutralize NR’s control as new investors flood to IPIX producing demand. Do not go for the head fake as IPIX SP spikes up in the sub dollar range. A real short squeeze will be in dollar multiples over a few days when it eventually takes place. IMO IPIX investors are in for a very unique, wealth building ride as IPIX science improves and saves lives.
