The Story of MyColdSnap,

We weren’t looking for the solution, but we found it.  One hot summer day in  Austin, Texas, we were drinking beer on the golf course.  Carlos' beer became increasingly warm but mine stayed cold because I put my beer in a tumbler of ice and water between drinks.  We wondered if anyone had ever developed a product centered around keeping individual drinks cold in a hand held ice chest.  Surprisingly enough, the answer was "no!”

We then patented our idea - but what next?  Carlos is an artist and I am an engineer, so neither of us had experience in developing and marketing consumer products.  Nonetheless, we successfully designed, engineered, and prototyped our product.  We shared this prototype with the nation's largest promotional products company, who licensed our product, and assumed responsibility for manufacturing and selling MyColdSnap.  Carlos and I subsequently went about our own pursuits, growing our individual self-owned businesses and starting our families.

In the Spring of 2012, we launched MyColdSnap ourselves.  We built and financed production tooling, developed an e-commerce site, established fulfillment and were poised to begin marketing MyColdSnap when we got a call from ABC's Shark Tank.  Against the odds, we had been chosen from a pool of 30,000 applicants to pitch our idea to the Sharks.  On February 8th, 2013 our episode aired to a viewership of over five million, plus countless others on the internet.
